Research Programs and International Collaborations
Researchers of the Center for Translational Immunology participate in a large number of research programs within Radboudumc and TU/e, as well as in international consortia. From the translational point of view, researchers of CTi are spearheading work in important areas of immunological research, including trained immunity (International Trained Immunity Consortium), functional genomics (Human Functional Genomics Project), as well as disease areas such as infections, cardiovascular diseases and oncology. These immunological and translational efforts are complemented by important initiatives at technological level, in which CTi researchers are at the forefront of discoveries in the fields of nanobiology, RNA technologies, and pharmaceutical delivery systems. The academic research of CTi is complemented by direct participation in the biotech incubator Biotrip with direct participation of Radboudumc and TU/e.
This network Brings together expert clinical investigators in the fields of inflammation and atherosclerosis with leading investigators in the fields of vascular biology, immunology, and bioengineering to yield immunotherapies for cardiovascular diseases.
Leducq Network of ExcellenceHuman Functional Genomics Project
HFGP is a large-scale project that aims to identify the consequences that genetic variation in human DNA and the complex colonization with microbial communities (microbiome) have on the physiological processes in the human body, with a special focus on the immune system in the health and human diseases.
Website >International Trained Immunity Consortium
INTRIM consortium is a large-scale collaborative effort that aims to investigates the mechanisms of adaptation within the innate immune system, process also termed trained immunity. INTRIM aims to study the process of trained immunity, a de facto innate immune memory, in order to improve our understanding of the immune response and identify novel strategies for the improvement of vaccination and the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
